About the Event

The BYU–Hawaii Self-Care Challenge is an annual event held during Fall Semester (usually October). The event will last for approximately 30 days and is designed to help students explore various methods of self-care in the following eight categories:

  • Physical Wellness
  • Emotional Wellness
  • Social Wellness
  • Spiritual Wellness
  • Intellectual Wellness
  • Occupational Wellness
  • Environmental Wellness
  • Financial Wellness

How to Participate

You can participate in the Challenge by signing up for the Self-Care Challenge Canvas course. Students will be given approximately 30 days to complete the Challenge. The Challenge/Canvas course does not affect your grades, and you will not receive any credit for taking the course; however, you will have the opportunity to win a prize.

How to Win a Prize

Each challenge in the Canvas course is assigned a specific number of points. For each challenge you complete, you will be given a set number of points. Those with the most points earned will be awarded a prize. There will be about four top prizes for the top participants. About 25 other prizes will be randomly awarded to the top 100 or so participants.

    Possible Prizes

    Past prizes have included items such as an iPad, e-bike, Airpods, portable speaker, Owala water bottles and Seasider Grill coupons.
